The Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) is an Administrative Agency under the Andalusian Regional Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government). Approximately 790 professionals (244 researchers and technicians) currently work at IFAPA in its 18 centres distributed all over Andalusia.
The Nematology group at IFAPA has worked on Integrated Nematode Management in horticultural crops with emphasis on Biological control and plant resistance. They have contributed greatly to manage nematode problems in Andalusian agriculture through research, development, technology transfer and training.

Nematology has been always part of CSIC’s research interests in several institutes (INIA-CSIC, IAS-CSIC, ICA-CISC; MNCN-CSIC, and ICVV-CSIC). Nematologists at CSIC have worked in nematode systematics, plant parasitic nematode control, entomopathogenic nematodes, sustainable soil management nematode-based agro-environmental indicators, and control of invasive nematode forest pests.
