ANDALUSIAN INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURAL AND FISHERIES RESEARCH AND TRAINING (IFAPA)
The Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) is an Administrative Agency under the Andalusian Regional Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government). Approximately 790 professionals (244 researchers and technicians) are working currently at IFAPA in its 18 centers distributed all over Andalusia.
The Nematology group at IFAPA has worked on Integrated Nematode Management in horticultural protected crops with emphasis on Biological control and plant resistance. They have contributed greatly to manage nematode problems in Andalusian agriculture trough research, development, technology transfer and training.

NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE – INIA
The National Agricultural and Food Research and Technology Institute (INIA) is a Public Research Institution. INIA participates in identifying research, development and innovation priorities in the agro-food sector of Spain, and represents Spanish agro-food research in the European Union.
Approximately 830 people work in INIA, 20% Scientific, 20 % Administrative and 60% technical. The Institute engages in R+D+i in Plant Production and Protection, Animal Production and Health, Forestry, Food Quality and Security and the Environment. Nematology has been always part of INIA’s research interests. Nematologists at INIA have worked in nematode pest control in horticultural crops, alternatives to chemical and fumigant soil nematicidal treatments, sustainable soil management and nematode-based agri-environmental indicators, and, more recently, in the control of invasive nematode forest pests.
